Who we are: The Brockton Area Arc (BAARC) is a non-profit local affiliate of The Arc and Arc Massachusetts. Chartered in 1952, the Brockton Arc provides services to the town of Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Holbrook, Rockland, Stoughton, West Bridgewater and Whitman. BAARC is involved in advocacy for the rights, general welfare and appropriate services for the developmentally disabled population of the Brockton Area and Massachusetts Information and referral services are provided to individuals, families and interested groups on request through the Family to Family Support Center. The Brockton Arc operates an Employment Service Program which provides direct services to persons with developmental disabilities. Referrals of other individuals with disabilities are considered based on their ability to benefit from our services. Our Goal: The overall goal of the program is to provide employment supports which helps individuals prepare for and experience gainful employment. Employment supports may include work center employment, work crews, enclaves in industry, volunteer work, supported employment and competitive employment. |

Criteria for acceptance: The Brockton Area Arc accepts referrals through the Department of Mental Retardation, The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, The Commission for the Blind, and other privately funded sources. Individual referrals for service without third party sponsorship may be billed for services at a private tuition rate. Individuals accepted for service will demonstrate behavior conducive to a real work environment. Each referral will be individually considered. |
